In 2025, the Bangsamoro Parliament approved the upgrade of Maguindanao Provincial Hospital into a 350-bed tertiary medical center, officially renaming it Bangsamoro Regional Hospital and Medical Center. The measure positioned the hospital as a Level III referral facility intended to serve more than 700,000 residents of Maguindanao del Sur and nearby areas.

He emphasized that the upgrade would allow the hospital to expand its services, treat more patients, and bring better healthcare to the people.
As Chief of Hospital, Dr. Baguindali has been associated with a major transformation in regional healthcare capacity. The Bangsamoro Government described Bangsamoro Regional Hospital and Medical Center as the first-ever Level III hospital in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, evolving from a modest facility into a regional medical center with expanded services and stronger institutional capability.
This transformation includes the development of more specialized healthcare services. Public reports noted that BRHMC was set to provide services such as trauma and stroke care, oncology, dialysis, physical rehabilitation, ambulatory surgery, a blood bank, and training programs across several medical fields. The hospital’s development was also expected to reduce the burden on patients who previously had to travel far to access specialized care.
Beyond hospital expansion, Dr. Baguindali’s leadership also reflects a broader public health commitment. In 2024, the Ministry of Health – BARMM reported that healthcare leaders in Maguindanao gathered for Philippine Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week through an initiative involving the Ministry of Health, IPHO-Maguindanao, and Maguindanao Provincial Hospital. The opening of Bangsamoro Regional Hospital and Medical Center further strengthened the region’s healthcare landscape.
